Welcome to the Thirty Something Canucks Run for the Cure site!

We dedicate this site to the women and their families who have been touched by breast cancer. Within our small online family, the Thirty-Something Canucks, two of our members have been affected by this illness on a very personal level: our friend Juniper in Ontario, whose mother Norma was diagnosed as well as our friend Donna in Halifax, whose sister Darlene has recently begun treatment.

There is always hope. No matter what happens, through support and love, we can survive anything. In a gesture of support for Donna and Juniper and their families, we decided to form a national team for the CIBC/Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation's "Run for the Cure." Despite the short timeline to get organized, we formed teams in four cities and thanks to our generous sponsors, many of whom were fellow Canucks, we raised over $1200 in donations to help find a cure for breast cancer. On October 2, 2005, 32 members of the national Thirty-Something Canucks team walked and ran in Collingwood (Ontario), Edmonton, Halifax, and Ottawa. During the walk and afterwards we kept Donna and Darlene and Juniper and her mother in our thoughts and prayers.

Please feel free to visit each run site page created by our members. These photos are a testimonial to the difference that love and support can make. Please leave your comments and reflections on our thoughts page. It would mean a lot to us to know that you visited. There is a link below to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation so that you may continue to donate if you wish. Through dedication, caring, and faith we will one day make breast cancer history.

Thank you for stopping by!

Quote from CIBC RUN FOR THE CURE website:
Survivor Participation
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is a celebration of survivors and the difference the community makes in the lives of Canadians touched by cancer.

It's an extraordinary event - on a single day in October, more than 20,000 breast cancer survivors proudly wearing pink t-shirts walk or run in support of the cause.

Their families, friends and co-workers take this journey with them, many signing the special Wall of Hope, where messages to loved ones are left.

Living proof

Breast cancer survivors are a symbol of hope, progress and inspiration - living proof that we are making a difference.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is about creating a future where every person diagnosed with breast cancer will be a survivor.

What Cancer Cannot Do

Cancer is so limited:
It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot suppress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit.
